Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrives in Kunming, starting working trip in China

During his working trip, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to work in Yunnan province and Chongqing city, China.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrives in Kunming, Yunnan, China, to begin his trip to attend the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit.

At exactly 9:05 a.m. on November 5 (local time), the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Changshui International Airport, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China, to begin a working trip to attend the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and attend the 10th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy Summit (ACMECS), the 11th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Summit and work in China from November 5-8.

In a special dance performance, with colorful costumes of ethnic minority youths of Yunnan province, welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at the airport on the Chinese side were Standing Committee Member, Head of the Organizing Committee of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee Liu Fei; Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei; Deputy Director of Yunnan Provincial Foreign Affairs Committee Ma Tac Han.

Welcoming the Prime Minister to Vietnam were Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai; Vietnamese Consul General in Kunming Hoang Minh Son; Vietnamese Consul General in Guangzhou Nguyen Viet Dung; Vietnamese Consul General in Nanning Do Nam Trung; officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in China, the Vietnamese Consulate General and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Kunming.

At these conferences, in addition to traditional issues such as economics, trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, management and sustainable use of transboundary water resources, leaders will focus on discussing new issues, notably innovation...

In particular, at the 8th GMS Summit, the participating leaders will adopt the Joint Declaration of the conference and the GMS Innovation Strategy for Development 2030, recognizing 6 documents on investment, environment and climate change, digitalization, gender equality, health, and trade document digitalization framework.

During the working trip, the Prime Minister is expected to work in Yunnan province and Chongqing city, China.

In Kunming City, Yunnan Province, along with attending the Conferences of the Mekong sub-regional cooperation mechanisms, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend and speak at the Retreat and Plenary Session of the 8th GMS Summit; attend and speak at the 10th ACMECS Summit; attend and speak at the 11th CLMV Summit; and have bilateral meetings with leaders of countries within the framework of attending the Conferences.

Thereby, conveying the message that Vietnam always attaches importance to and contributes to promoting the GMS, ACMECS, CLMV mechanisms as well as the overall Mekong sub-regional cooperation to create breakthroughs in the new development stage; affirming the foreign policy mindset of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, being a friend, a reliable partner, an active and responsible member of the international community.

The Prime Minister will have bilateral activities in Yunnan and Chongqing, including meetings with leaders of China and provinces and cities; visits to economic and social establishments in China; meetings with overseas Vietnamese and the Vietnamese community in China...

Thereby, continuing to consolidate and promote the friendly neighborly relationship, the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the "Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of Strategic Significance" to develop more deeply, comprehensively and sustainably.
