On April 7, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led a high-ranking delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam to visit and attend the memorial service for comrade Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had meetings with General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith and Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone.
At the meetings, on behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his infinite sorrow and deepest condolences to the Party, State and people of Laos and the family of comrade Khamtay Siphandone.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his admiration for the great contributions and indelible marks in the history of construction and development of Laos and the revolutionary movements of the three Indochinese countries of comrade Khamtay Siphandone, a member of the Indochinese Communist Party.
The Prime Minister emphasized that comrade Khamtay Siphandone, together with Lao predecessors, led the revolutionary movement, achieving consecutive victories, bringing the Lao revolution to complete victory, and at the same time greatly contributing to the victory of the Vietnamese revolution.
