On the morning of April 4, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Government to the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Hanoi to pay tribute to former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President, and former Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Khamtay Siphandone.
Writing in the condolence book and expressing his condolences to comrade Khamtay Siphandone, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the passing of comrade Khamtay Siphandone is a great loss to the Party, State and people of Laos. The leaders and people of Vietnam have also lost a great friend and close comrade who always strived for the revolutionary cause of the two brotherly countries Laos and Vietnam and the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos. Comrade Khamtay Siphandone was a senior leader, an outstanding and loyal revolutionary who devoted his whole life to the revolutionary cause of Laos.
Appreciating the great contributions of comrade Khamtay Siphandone to the Vietnam-Laos relationship, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government, sent his deepest condolences to the leaders of the Lao Government and the entire family of comrade Khamtay Siphandone.
Previously, on April 3, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a telegram to comrade Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of Laos, expressing condolences on the passing of the Prime Minister's father, comrade Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President, and former Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on April 2, 2025.
