Vietnam is one of nine partners proposed by WEF to coordinate in organizing a National Strategy Dialogue with WEF, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is one of eight leaders of countries to have a separate dialogue with WEF.
On the evening of January 15 and early morning of January 16, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation, left Hanoi to attend the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland (WEF Davos 2024), and pay official visits to Hungary and Romania from January 16 to 23 at the invitation of Founder and Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Romanian Prime Minister Ion-Marcel Ciolacu.
The official delegation joining the working trip with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh included: Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung; Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien; Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son; Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat; Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong; Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai; Deputy Minister of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang; Deputy Minister of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San; Deputy Head of the Government Office Do Ngoc Huynh; Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Trung.
In addition, leaders of a number of ministries, branches and localities also participated in the working trip.
The WEF Davos 2024 Conference will take place from January 15-19, 2024 with the theme: "Rebuilding Trust." This demonstrates the interest, recognition and appreciation of WEF as well as multinational corporations for Vietnam's international role, position, achievements and development vision.
After attending the WEF Davos 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will pay official visits to Hungary and Romania to contribute to further increasing political trust, strengthening and enlivening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Hungary and Romania; promoting and bringing traditional cooperation areas to a new stage; promoting cooperation in potential and strong areas; further tightening the friendship between the Vietnamese people and the people of the two countries.
In addition, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Hungary and Romania also aims to connect the relationship between Vietnam and the Central Eastern European region and between the two countries and ASEAN, closely coordinating in solving global issues to contribute to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
