The Prime Minister respectfully offered incense in memory, expressed his infinite gratitude, and remembered the heroes and martyrs who fought and sacrificed their youth and lives on the land of Dien Bien Phu.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), on the afternoon of May 6, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation offered incense to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs at A1 Cemetery in Dien Bien Phu City, Dien Bien Province.

Also attending the ceremony were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung; Minister, Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son; Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh; Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong; leaders of ministries, branches, central and local agencies...

70 years ago, under the talented and wise leadership of the Party and the great President Ho Chi Minh - National Hero, World Cultural Celebrity, our army and people fought bravely and carried out the decisive battle of Dien Bien Phu.

With courage and a spirit of heroic sacrifice, through 56 days and nights of "digging mountains and sleeping in tunnels, eating rice in the pouring rain, mixing blood with mud, unwavering courage and unwavering will," the heroes, martyrs and soldiers of Dien Bien, together with the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people, achieved a victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world."

The Dien Bien Phu victory will forever be an immortal heroic epic - "A shining golden milestone" in our nation's history.

Built in 1958 and repaired and upgraded many times, the A1 National Martyrs Cemetery is about 100m south of the historical site of A1 Hill. It is the resting place of 644 soldiers who fought heroically and sacrificed their lives in the historic Dien Bien Phu Campaign in 1954.

The Prime Minister and the delegation respectfully offered incense in memory, expressed their infinite gratitude, and remembered the heroes and martyrs who bravely fought, sacrificed their youth and lives on the heroic land of Dien Bien Phu, creating the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu to regain independence and freedom for the Fatherland; so that the country could blossom with independence and bear the fruit of freedom.

The blood and sacrifice of heroes and martyrs have colored the glorious revolutionary flag. Our Fatherland and people will forever remember the heroes and martyrs who fought bravely and sacrificed on the heroic land of Dien Bien Phu.

It is expected that on May 6-7, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend many important activities in the program to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory.

In particular, the Prime Minister will attend and deliver a speech at the rally, parade and march to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory held on the morning of May 7 at Dien Bien Provincial Stadium.
