Patriotic education through exchanges with historical witnesses in the Dien Bien Phu victory

On the afternoon of April 27, Hai Duong Provincial Museum organized a meeting and exchange with historical witnesses to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024). The meeting aroused patriotism and pride in today's young generation.

The program was attended by 150 delegates including: Board of Directors, staff of the Provincial Museum; Board of Directors, teachers and students of Ngo Gia Tu Secondary School; Sao Bien Kindergarten (both from Hai Duong City).

Many students attended the exchange program and met historical witnesses of Dien Bien Phu.

In particular, the program had the participation of veterans who participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign: Dang Trong Tran (born in 1934), Nguyen Duc Tinh (born in 1933, both in Hai Duong City); Truong Quoc Vinh (born in 1933 in Nam Sach District).

At the meeting, three historical witnesses of the Dien Bien Phu campaign, who are natives of Hai Duong, told vivid stories about the supply of weapons, ammunition, and military equipment; the story of pulling artillery; the Him Lam battle and many intelligent and brave battles of Dien Bien soldiers...

At the meeting, the veterans presented many souvenirs of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign to the Provincial Museum: a hammock and a piece of camouflage cloth, a photo of the Dien Bien soldiers of Hai Duong City visiting General Vo Nguyen Giap...

Through the meeting and exchange, to honor and express gratitude to the soldiers who contributed blood and bones to build and protect the Fatherland, especially in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign 70 years ago.

The meeting and exchange with historical witnesses of the Dien Bien Phu campaign has inspired and aroused national pride, and enhanced revolutionary tradition education for cadres, party members, and people, especially today's young generation.

After the exchange, the delegates and students visited 50 typical documents and artifacts of former Dien Bien Phu soldiers who are natives of Hai Duong and images related to the Dien Bien Phu Campaign displayed at the Provincial Museum.
