In the 2025 enrollment season, in the North, there are still many universities that only consider admission based on academic records, without requiring a combination of other criteria.

Below is a list of Northern universities that consider transcripts independently, without requiring other criteria (foreign language certificates, interviews).

14Phenikaa University HanoiAdmission is based on the entire 12th grade transcript. 15University of Transport TechnologyConsider the 3-year high school transcripts of the subjects in the admission registration group. Candidates must have a score of 18 or higher in the admission subject group.

Last year, of the nearly 615,000 university applicants, approximately 28% were admitted based on their high school transcripts.

This year's admission season, with the consideration of academic records, the Ministry of Education and Training requires a combination of at least 3 subjects, including math or literature with a weight of at least one-third of the total score. A major or training program can use several subject combinations at the same time. In that case, the common number of subjects in the combinations must have an assessment weight of at least 50% of the total score.

In particular, schools must use the results of the entire 12th grade year of candidates, instead of using the scores of 3-5 semesters as at present. The review of transcripts will be conducted at the same time as other methods, that is, after candidates know their high school graduation exam scores, and not announced early as in previous years.
