“At least 32 incoming drones were shot down by air defense forces early on November 10 near the towns of Domodedovo, Ramenskoye and Kolomna southeast of Moscow,” Sobyanin wrote on Telegram.

Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyev also said a major drone attack was underway and air defenses continued to operate across the region.

According to the official, a UAV crashed in the village of Stanovoye in the Ramenskoye region, setting two houses on fire.

Several videos on social media showed the drone being shot down over the Moscow region. There was also video of the fire in Stanovoye, showing several houses almost completely destroyed by the fire.

Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky international airports have announced temporary suspension of operations due to drone attacks.

Eight drones were destroyed in the area this morning, Orel Region Governor Andery Klychkov said, adding that there were no reports of casualties or damage as a result of the attack.

There have been no reports of casualties or damage from the attack so far.

Kiev has stepped up drone attacks on Russia since January, primarily targeting energy infrastructure. Moscow responded by adding Ukrainian power plants to its list of legitimate military targets. Since then, Russia has destroyed and disabled most of Ukraine’s non-nuclear power generation capacity.

Later the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces had thwarted an attempt by Ukraine to carry out a drone attack on targets on the territory of the Russian Federation.

According to the ministry, within just three hours, Russian air defense forces intercepted or destroyed 70 Ukrainian drones - including 34 over the Moscow region, 14 over the Bryansk region, 7 over the Orel region, 7 over the Kaluga region, 6 over the Kursk region and 2 over the Tula region.

Earlier, on October 20, Ukraine also carried out a major drone attack on Russian territory. At that time, Moscow shot down and intercepted up to 110 drones in several areas. Ukraine also conducted several major raids on Russian territory in August and September.

According to The Guardian (UK), there was no sign of panic on the streets of Moscow after the Ukrainian drone attack. People continued to go about their daily activities as usual and the bells of Orthodox churches continued to ring throughout the capital.

Russia has begun using fiber-optic-controlled drones in the Kursk region. The new type of drone cannot be jammed by conventional electronic countermeasures.
