In Laos, on May 9, the first tourist train from Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, China arrived in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. The train departed on May 8 with 240 tourists departing from Guiyang Station for an 8-day journey.
After traveling from Guizhou to Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, tourists were transferred to the Laos-China high-speed train to the capital Vientiane. According to the schedule, during their stay in Laos, tourists will visit famous tourist attractions in the ancient capital of Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng town in Vientiane Province and in the capital Vientiane.
In the initial phase, the cruise ship is expected to run regularly once a month and the number of ships will be increased in time depending on the specific needs of passengers. In addition, ships bringing tourists from Southeast Asian countries to Guizhou will also be implemented in the near future.
Previously, Yunnan, Hubei and Beijing provinces have launched similar tourism products to Laos via the Laos-China railway system.
According to statistics from the beginning of the year to May 6, there were more than 1 million passengers completing immigration procedures between China and Laos, an increase of 89% over the same period in 2023. This is a record for the shortest time ever to reach 1 million passengers.
