Lao Cai tourism enters the group with revenue of over 10,000 billion VND in the first 6 months of the year

With the number of visitors more than doubling compared to the same period in 2022, Lao Cai is among the localities leading in tourism revenue in the first 6 months of 2023 with a revenue of over 10,000 billion VND.

In the past 6 months, Lao Cai has welcomed more than 3.7 million visitors. Total tourism revenue reached 10,813 billion VND, up 90%. Of which, visitors to Lao Cai mainly concentrate on key areas such as Sa Pa town with about 1.5 million visitors, Lao Cai city with 1.6 million visitors; Bac Ha district welcomed about 370,000 visitors; Bao Yen district 600,000 visitors, Bat Xat district about 146,000 visitors...

Lao Cai tourism also received another good signal when the labor force in the local tourism sector returned and increased rapidly throughout the province after a long period of labor shortage due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic with about 28,500 workers.

Since the beginning of 2023, many cultural, sports and tourism activities have taken place in Lao Cai province, attracting the attention of many tourists. The opening ceremony was the "Welcoming the first group of visitors to Lao Cai province in 2023" at Lao Cai Station with about 400 guests. Of which, there were about more than 300 international guests from countries such as the US, UK, France, Spain... traveling by train to the locality during the New Year holiday and welcoming the new year 2023.

Towards the 120th anniversary of Sa Pa tourism (1903 - 2023), festivals such as: "Sa Pa - Brocade and Flowers 2023", "Rose Festival" and "Northwest Cultural Carnival Sa Pa - Land of Love"... have been elaborately and grandly organized by the locality, attracting a large number of visitors to visit and experience.

In addition, programs such as: "Plum color of Bac Ha White Plateau in Spring", "Bac Ha White Plateau Festival Summer 2023" with a unique traditional horse race have brought visitors the opportunity to explore and learn about the beauty of ethnic culture in the area through festivals, historical relics, costumes, and traditional crafts imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic groups in Bac Ha district.

The locality also actively participates in fairs, conferences, and tourism promotion connections in provinces and cities inside and outside the province such as the expanded Northwest Cultural Week, Vietnam International Tourism Fair - VITM Hanoi 2023... to introduce and promote tourism, products, services, and business brands to attract tourists.
