On the morning of January 30, at the hall of the People's Committee of Tu Cuong commune, Thanh Mien District People's Court held a mobile trial of two criminal cases related to the acts of illegally storing and transporting firecrackers.
On December 14, 2023, in front of the gate of Mr. Doan Thanh Thao's house (born in 1978) in An Nghiep village, Tu Cuong commune, the District Police and Tu Cuong Commune Police discovered and caught Tran Duc Manh (born in 2005) in Tu Cuong commune hiding a bag of pineapples containing 4 firecrackers and 10 firecrackers.
At the investigation agency, Manh confessed that he went online to learn how to make and produce firecrackers. After learning how to do it, Manh ordered chemicals and supporting tools and made 22 large firecrackers and 4 firecracker sets. In addition, Manh also produced 95 firecracker shells. When he was arrested, Manh was on his way to sell the firecrackers.
On January 12, in the area of Vu Xa village road, Ngo Quyen commune, Ngo Quyen commune police discovered and caught Nguyen Van Nghia, born in 1986, from Tam Ky (Kim Thanh), in possession of a cardboard box containing 24 white cylindrical blocks rolled in paper of various sizes. Nguyen Van Nghia confessed that all the cylinders were self-rolled firecrackers that Nghia bought for his own use.
At the end of the trial, the People's Court of Thanh Mien district sentenced Tran Duc Manh to 30 months in prison for producing and trading in prohibited goods. Defendant Nguyen Van Nghia was sentenced to 7 months in prison for possessing prohibited goods.
