Thanh Mien strives to give 650-700 gifts to members and victims of Agent Orange/dioxin each year.

On the morning of June 28, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin of Thanh Mien district held its 3rd Congress of Delegates for the 2024-2029 term. This is the unit chosen by the Standing Committee of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin of Hai Duong province as the district-level model congress.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Vu Xuan Thu, Chairman of the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and comrade Khong Quoc Toan, Vice Chairman of Thanh Mien District People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the District Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in the 2018-2024 term.

The comrades suggested that in the coming term, all levels of the district's associations should do a good job of coordinating, propagating, and educating to raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, and the whole society to join hands in caring for and alleviating the pain of Agent Orange. Mobilize agencies, organizations, businesses, philanthropists, and the social community to pay attention to supporting and helping victims of Agent Orange/dioxin. Focus on building the association's fund, contributing to alleviating the "pain of Agent Orange". Strengthen solidarity, unity, create high consensus in awareness and action; innovate the content and methods of operation, closely follow the tasks, actively advise the Party Committee and the government to resolve issues related to the rights of victims of Agent Orange. The association must become a solid support for its members and victims of Agent Orange.

At the congress, delegates agreed on the direction, tasks and targets for the next term. In particular, striving to mobilize and raise funds for the Agent Orange Victim Care Fund to reach 60-70 million VND/association; each association contributes 2-2.5 million VND to the charity fund. Every year, association organizations visit and present 15 gifts to members; the entire district presents 650-700 gifts to members and Agent Orange victims.

At the congress, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in mobilizing and caring for Agent Orange victims in the district for the 2018-2024 term were commended by the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and the People's Committee of Thanh Mien district.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the District Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin for the 2024-2028 term, consisting of 19 members; elected a delegation to attend the 5th Congress of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin of Hai Duong province, term 2024-2028.

After the congress, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin organized an assessment and experience sharing.
