The FLC resort complex in Tho Xuan district has just been removed from the housing development plan for the 2021-2025 period by Thanh Hoa province.

The People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province has just approved the adjustment of the Housing Development Plan for the period 2021-2025. Of which, 70 commercial housing projects, urban areas, and residential areas were removed from the development list with a total area of nearly 1,900 hectares. The province said the projects were removed from the development plan because they lacked sufficient basis and feasibility.

Accordingly, Bim Son Town has the most eliminated housing projects with 9 projects, followed by Thanh Hoa City (8 projects), Dong Son District (8 projects)... Tho Xuan District has one project removed from the development list, which is the 100-hectare FLC Resort Complex.

FLC resort complex was proposed for investment by FLC Group at the end of 2018. This project is located in a complex of more than 3,000 hectares, including 4 other projects: airport service area, industrial park, high-tech agriculture and auxiliary urban area. The total investment in phase one is about 10,000 billion VND, expected to be completed in 2-3 years.

In addition, Thanh Hoa province requested to adjust the scale of more than 120 projects, cutting more than 130 hectares of land. Of which, the Southeast Urban Area, Nong Cong town, Nong Cong district was adjusted the most, reducing the total area from 100 hectares to 35 hectares.

The province also added 128 projects to the development list with a scale of nearly 1,400 hectares. Thanh Hoa City ranked first with 60 projects, totaling more than 550 hectares. The largest project is Dinh Huong Residential Area in Dinh Huong Sports Park, Dong Tho Ward (nearly 79 hectares).

Late last year, Thanh Hoa provincial leaders also assigned departments to consider revoking FLC's Hoang Long Industrial Park project, which had been stalled for 8 years. Although construction began in September 2015, the project was still stalled by the end of 2023, with only the gate and some fenced areas being built, while the majority of the land inside was still agricultural land.
