Number of traffic accidents on National Highway 5 and Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway increased

According to the report of the Traffic Safety Committee of Hai Duong province, in the first 9 months of 2023, there were 111 traffic accidents and collisions in the province, killing 86 people and injuring 56 people.

On national highways through Hai Duong, there were 53 traffic accidents, killing 38 people and injuring 27. National Highway 5 and the Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway had the highest number of accidents. In the first 9 months of 2023, National Highway 5 had 20 traffic accidents, killing 14 people and injuring 7 people, an increase of 6 accidents, 4 deaths, and a decrease of 1 injury compared to the same period last year.

On the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, there were 9 traffic accidents, killing 3 people and injuring 5 people, an increase of 6 accidents, 3 deaths and 4 injuries compared to the same period in 2022.

Among the traffic accidents occurring in the province, there were 107 road traffic accidents, 3 railway accidents and 1 inland waterway accident. Compared to the same period in 2022, there were 5 fewer traffic accidents, 9 fewer deaths, and 11 more injuries (an increase of 24.4%) compared to the same period in 2022. Traffic accidents involving children and adolescents increased compared to the same period last year (29 people under 18 years old, an increase of 9 people).

Six localities saw a decrease in the number of deaths due to traffic accidents, including Hai Duong City, Chi Linh City, Nam Sach, Thanh Ha, Ninh Giang and Thanh Mien districts. Three localities saw a decrease in all three criteria of traffic accidents, deaths and injuries, including Thanh Mien, Nam Sach and Chi Linh districts. Four localities saw an increase in the number of deaths due to traffic accidents, including Tu Ky, Cam Giang, Gia Loc and Binh Giang districts.
