The Office of the Police Investigation Agency will handle traffic accidents involving fatalities.

Previously, district-level police forces would directly protect, measure the scene, investigate, and handle fatal traffic accidents in the area.

After the district police are no longer present, the investigation and handling will be carried out by the Office of the Police Investigation Agency. The protection of accident scenes will now be assigned to the traffic police teams in charge of the area.

According to the assignment of Hai Duong Provincial Police, the traffic police teams in charge of the area are responsible for patrolling and handling traffic violations regularly and continuously throughout the province, without interruption after the district-level police no longer exist. The traffic police teams in charge of the area are currently mostly from the Traffic Police Department; the Traffic Police - Order Team of the district-level police in the past.

According to the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, from March 1 (when there were no more district-level police) to March 7, in Hai Duong, there were 11 traffic accidents, resulting in 2 deaths and 11 injuries; a decrease of 3 cases, an increase of 1 death, and a decrease of 2 injuries compared to the previous 7 days.
