According to the Department of Education and Training, in the following school years, the number of 9th grade students in the province increased sharply.
Secondary school graduates study 9+ at Hai Duong Vocational College
Specifically, compared to the 2022-2023 school year, the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years, each year increases by about 2,200 students; the 2025-2026 school year increases by about 5,500 students; especially the 2026-2027 school year increases very high, about 13,500 students.
According to some education experts in Hai Duong, the number of 9th grade students tends to increase sharply in the coming years due to some densely populated districts, towns, and cities with industrial parks... leading to high mechanical population growth such as Cam Giang district, Kinh Mon town, and Hai Duong city.
Meanwhile, the scale of schools is still limited, many places have degraded facilities, and there is a lack of classrooms. In particular, the quota assigned to public and non-public high schools is still low or difficult to increase due to the scale of schools, teachers and budget.
The solution that many education experts have proposed is to increase the number of students in public 10th grade classes from 42 to 45. This way, we can accept more than 1,000 students each year. If the number of teachers cannot be increased accordingly, existing teachers will have to teach extra hours but must be paid appropriately.
In addition, there should be mechanisms and policies to attract investment to strongly develop non-public high schools in densely populated areas, many industrial parks or increase quotas for non-public high schools. Existing schools should increase their scale, facilities, and teaching staff to be able to receive more students. The classification of students after junior high school needs to be well implemented, the network of vocational colleges needs to be re-planned, and the connection between the three parties: Vocational Education Center - Continuing Education with businesses and vocational colleges.
In the 2021-2022 school year, the whole province has 29,200 grade 9 students, an increase of about 4,000 students compared to the 2020-2021 school year, but the race to get into public grade 10 is very difficult.
