After Lunar New Year 2025, how many more holidays are there?

According to Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code, employees are entitled to a total of 11 official paid holidays and Tet holidays, including New Year's Day (1 day), Lunar New Year (5 days), Hung King's Commemoration Day (10/3 lunar month) (1 day), April 30 (1 day), International Labor Day (1 day) and National Day (2 days).

Foreigners working in Vietnam get an extra day off for traditional New Year and their country's National Day.

Previously, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs on the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule.

Accordingly, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers will have 9 days off, from January 25 to February 2, 2025, that is, from December 26, year of Giap Thin to January 5, year of At Ty.

In addition to the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday, 2025 will have many other extended holidays.

Most recently, on the Hung Kings' death anniversary, workers had three consecutive days off because the 10th day of the third lunar month fell on Monday (April 7th in the solar calendar), and the two adjacent Saturdays and Sundays were of course off.

Next is the holiday of Southern Liberation Day, National Reunification Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2025. Officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers will have 5 days off, lasting from April 30 to May 4, 2025 (swapping the working day from Friday, May 2 to Saturday, April 26, 2025).

After that, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers will have 4 days off on the occasion of National Day 2025, from August 30 to September 2, 2025.

In total, in 2025, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers will have 22 days off for holidays and Tet, including 11 official days and 11 compensatory and swapped days off.
