On April 30, Hai Phong Police said that Mr. NTT (Kien An, Hai Phong), the manager and user of the Facebook account, had posted false and distorted information on cyberspace.

The police agency determined that Mr. NTT had repeatedly used his personal Facebook to post articles and comments on the Internet with bad and distorted content; affecting the reputation of high-ranking leaders of the Party, State and the police force. Mr. NTT read this information on Facebook and Youtube but did not verify it and reposted it on his personal page and wrote comments on social networks.

Commenting and posting articles with distorted, untrue, and unverified content on social networks violates Article 101 of Decree No. 15/2020/ND-CP dated February 3, 2020 of the Government stipulating sanctions for administrative violations in the fields of post, telecommunications, radio frequencies, information technology and electronic transactions.

Faced with the strict documents and determination of the officers of the Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Mr. NTT admitted that his actions of writing comments and posting articles with distorted, untrue, and unverified content on social networks were violations of the law; voluntarily deleted the violating articles and comments and pledged not to repeat the offense. Considering that the violation did not reach the level of criminal prosecution, the Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Hai Phong City Police, drew up a record and issued a decision to administratively fine Mr. NTT VND 7.5 million according to the provisions of the law.

Through the above incident, the City Police recommends that people need to choose and search for information on official information sites; be alert and objective when receiving information, especially information on cyberspace, avoid being "led by the nose" by bad, toxic information, propagated by hostile and opposing forces with bad intentions; check information, reflect the reporting of false information to the authorities, including the Department of Cyber ​​Security and Prevention of High-Tech Crime, Hai Phong City Police to contribute to preventing bad, toxic, and false information that causes negative impacts in society.
