Vietcombank Deputy General Director Le Quang Vinh has just officially taken over the position of General Director for a period of 5 years.
Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) has just announced the appointment of Mr. Le Quang Vinh, member of the Board of Directors, as General Director from March 7.
Mr. Vinh will assume the highest role at Vietcombank's Board of Directors for 5 years.
The position of bank general director has been vacant since July 2024, after Vietcombank dismissed Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung from this position to elect him as chairman.
Mr. Vinh was born in 1976 and graduated with a master's degree in finance from the University of New South Wales (Australia). He joined Vietcombank in mid-1999 as an officer of the Investment and Securities Appraisal Department. After that, he held many positions such as Deputy Head of Project Investment Department, Deputy Head of Retail Banking Policy and Products Department, Deputy Director and Director of Vietcombank Leasing Company...
At the end of 2017, Mr. Vinh was Deputy General Director of Vietcombank. From July 2024, he was assigned to be in charge of Vietcombank's executive board.
At the extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on March 7, Mr. Vinh was elected to the Board of Directors of Vietcombank for the remaining term of 2023 - 2028. In addition, the bank also dismissed Mr. Nguyen My Hao, who submitted a resignation letter and retired from the Board of Directors from November 2024. Currently, Vietcombank has 9 members of the Board of Directors.
By the end of 2024, Vietcombank achieved credit growth of 13.7%, total assets increased by 12.9% and exceeded VND2 million billion for the first time. The bank's bad debt ratio remained low at 0.97%; the bad debt coverage ratio was high at 223%. Notably, the bank's profits continued to record new records.
The bank's total outstanding loans reached VND1,440 trillion, of which wholesale credit increased by 15% and retail credit increased by 12%. The bank's total mobilization reached VND1,530 trillion, up nearly 8% compared to the end of last year.
