Ms. Hoang Thu Trang (born in 2002), from Chi Linh City (Hai Duong) actively participates and has many contributions to the activities of Vietnamese students in the Russian Federation. She was elected to the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Student Association in Russia, term I, 2024 - 2026.
Sharing her journey to Russia, Ms. Trang said that this was a chance. With many achievements in studying, she received a full scholarship from the Russian Government and enrolled in PE Lumumba University of Friendship of Peoples of Russia. This school has good facilities, diverse majors, and many links with international schools, so she has more opportunities to interact and exchange. She is a third-year student majoring in management.
Looking back at her high school days, she was a hard-working and focused student. In particular, with her love for history, she won second prize in the provincial and national competitions for excellent students in grades 9 and 12.
However, when she was a student at Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, she did not participate in many activities and movements but spent her time studying, so she felt regretful. Therefore, when she went to Russia to study, she was determined to participate in more activities to be able to break through herself, improve her skills and knowledge.
While participating in the Youth Union and Association activities in Russia, Ms. Trang had the opportunity to organize and participate in many activities in the fields of education, culture, arts, and sports. Through these activities, she gained more experience in management, planning, teamwork, and event organization.
Some of the activities she has participated in include the Contest "Youth in Russia - Loyal to the Party", the Contest "Learning about legal regulations related to the rights and obligations of Vietnamese people abroad", organizing the program "Vietnamese Language Day", welcoming new students and many other cultural, artistic and sports programs.
Although she participated in many Youth Union and Association programs in Russia, the "Green Summer 2023" volunteer campaign organized by the Youth Union Executive Committee in the Russian Federation in coordination with the International School Union, Hanoi National University in Vietnam is the most memorable program for her. Volunteering for 2 weeks in Bang Thanh commune, Pac Nam district (Bac Kan province), she had the opportunity to teach children in the highlands, contribute to lighting up many rural roads, build youth bookcases, children's playgrounds, organize sports competitions, and promote people to build a civilized lifestyle...
“In Russia, there are no such long-term volunteer programs. The 2-week volunteering in Bac Kan helped me connect with more people and have many memories with ethnic minorities," Trang recalled.
According to Ms. Trang, the most important thing to make the Youth Union and Association abroad strong is to connect many children from the homeland and the community. Therefore, it is necessary to care, focus and inspire those born and raised in Russia to understand Vietnam, know about the association and integrate with the student community from the country. Elected to the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Student Association in Russia, she will work with the youth union members to increase exchanges, teach Vietnamese and organize many programs and activities to connect and spread the Vietnamese student movement closer to the Vietnamese community in particular and international students in general.
With those efforts, Ms. Trang received many certificates of merit from the school and the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in the Russian Federation.
Currently, Ms. Trang is an intern at the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation. She strives to complete her studies in Russia, then return to work and contribute to her country.
