On the morning of July 18, candidates officially registered their university admission wishes for 2024 on the Ministry of Education and Training's Admissions System.
To help students increase their chances of being admitted to university, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) shared with reporters about this issue.
- Madam, to increase the chance of being admitted to a major that is suitable for their abilities, what should students pay special attention to during the application process?
- From July 6 to 10, the General Admission System of the Ministry of Education and Training is open for candidates to practice registering for admission. This step helps candidates get familiar with the system and avoid mistakes when registering for real. After July 10, all practice information of candidates registered on the system will be deleted to prepare for the registration period from July 18 to 30.
In the past few days, nearly 300,000 candidates, with millions of wishes, have tried to register on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training. The general admission support system of the Ministry of Education and Training allows students to register an unlimited number of wishes, and there is no limit on the number of times they can adjust their admission wishes. Candidates only need to register for the school's major/training program without having to register to choose the admission method or admission combination.
The purpose of the system is to help students avoid mistakes in choosing combinations and admission methods. The system will use, arrange and select the best data that students have provided in the database to consider admission to the highest wishes, creating maximum conditions, maximizing the benefits and rights of candidates.
The Ministry of Education and Training and training institutions are taking on the difficult part of the work, so that candidates can choose easily and make the best choice with their current abilities. When registering for admission, candidates need to complete the entire process from the beginning to the end of the process (both when registering and when adjusting admission wishes, if any). This is to ensure that the system has recorded their registration data.
Candidates also need to carefully review the conditions and information on priority areas and priority subjects (if any) to be able to edit and complete if there are any errors.
- So what is the strategy for arranging wishes to increase candidates' chances of passing the university entrance exam, especially for candidates who are admitted early, madam?
- Tactics and strategies are actually simple. The candidate's favorite wishes are prioritized. This is thanks to the superiority of the Ministry of Education and Training's General Admission Support System that supports candidates. They will pass the most prioritized wish among the wishes that are likely to be admitted. The number of wishes should not be too many, because this is both costly and unnecessary, spread out, and ineffective.
A point to note for candidates who have been admitted in the early admission rounds of the schools is that they should not be subjective, thinking that receiving such notice from the schools means they have been officially admitted. These wishes of yours still need to be registered on the General Admission Support System, then they will have official value and validity.
There have been cases in previous years where students were admitted early and thought they had been admitted, not paying attention to the next procedures as issued and instructed by the Ministry of Education and Training; the candidates did not register any wishes on the system and had to register for admission in the following admission rounds.
Even if you are admitted early, you still have to register in order of priority for your wishes. If you are admitted early and put your first wish in, then of course you will pass that wish.
- Adjusting your wishes is an opportunity, but many candidates make mistakes in this process. So what advice do you have for candidates in this process to avoid unfairly failing?
- Candidates should only adjust their admission wishes when and only when there is a wrong arrangement, not in accordance with the intended priority order. This is an opportunity for you to adjust your admission wishes to arrange them correctly, avoiding unfortunate mistakes.
Many students who are registering for the first time on the system will inevitably be confused and make mistakes, so time is allowed for them to adjust to avoid mistakes as much as possible, ensuring that they register correctly for their desired wishes.
On the other hand, students need to choose a major before choosing a school. Candidates need to have the ability, strengths, and passion to be able to pursue a career and a long-term career. Once they have chosen the right major, they should consider many options at different schools, domestic and foreign universities, foreign training joint programs, etc. to compare the strengths of the schools in terms of training programs, staff, facilities, practice opportunities, internships, job opportunities, etc.
There is still time for students to continue to carefully research the admission plans of universities, ensuring that the available information data meets the requirements set by the schools for each major and training program they wish to study.
Some schools may still be in the early admissions phase and will then upload early admissions data to the system. Students must comply with the requirements for paperwork and ensure that they meet the deadlines to avoid risks.
You need to relax and be calm to make accurate and precise decisions when choosing to place your admission wishes on the System.
Thank you very much!
From July 18 to 5:00 p.m. on July 30, candidates have 12 days to register, adjust and add unlimited admission wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training's system at thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn.
