On every holiday and Tet, heroic songs recalling the time when the Hung Kings founded the country are performed by the young generation of Hai Duong with many different colors, reviving the spirit of our ancestors.
Preserve values
At an art program promoting the homeland's sea and islands held in 2023, the performance "Epic on the Bronze Drum" performed by artists from the Hai Duong Provincial Center for Culture and Arts attracted a large audience. The stage space seemed to return to ancient times. The artists stepped out in costumes from the Hung Kings' era with graceful, decisive, and proud dances. The drum beats resounded with a fiery spirit, making viewers feel proud of their national traditions.
The heroic songs recalling the time when the Hung Kings ruled the country are often so captivating. Recently, these performances have been performed by many schools and units in different styles on the occasion of holidays and Tet. To have such special and heart-touching performances, the artists, especially the students, have to prepare meticulously from costumes to practice.
Do My Duyen, a student of class 12A1, Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, said that every school year, the school's Youth Union organizes many art programs. In addition to performances praising the homeland and country, there are also many songs remembering the achievements of our ancestors during the country's founding. These performances are often very elaborately prepared in terms of costumes, requiring many participants, and are more difficult than contemporary performances. The members all research online to choose each unique dance, expressing the indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people. There are programs that require both teachers and students to practice continuously for many days, but everyone is excited.
Familiar songs such as: Vietnamese Spirit, Lac Hong Bloodline, Au Lac Lullaby, People of the South... were staged, sung and danced vividly and uniquely by many units. The heroic lyrics combined with strong dances, the sacred images of Lac Long Quan, Au Co and their children going to the forest and sea to build the foundation of Vietnam, made the audience feel many emotions.
National pride
Every time the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month approaches, all Vietnamese people turn to their ancestors with all their gratitude and respect. Today's youth have many ways to sing loudly with aspirations for the people and country of Vietnam.
For young people, songs about the Hung Kings' era have fostered a love of history and national pride, such as the song Lac Hong's Bloodline, which has majestic passages: "Lac Hong's Bloodline/Four thousand years/Bright red blood/Flowing in my heart/Lac Hong's race/Dragon and fairy breed/Vowing to embrace the motherland for generations..." . Nguyen Thi Quynh Trang, class monitor of class 10H, Phuc Thanh High School (Kinh Mon) said that when performing historical reenactments about the Hung Kings' era, the students were all serious, enthusiastic, and proud. When performing these songs, they were no longer simply works of art but also a flame that conveyed love for the homeland and country, reminding and evoking in each person's soul emotions and pride.
