In recent days at Hai Duong Children's Hospital, the number of children suffering from acute diarrhea caused by Rota virus has increased.

On February 13, the Gastroenterology Department of Hai Duong Children's Hospital was treating 46 pediatric patients, of whom 30 had acute diarrhea caused by Rota virus. On average, the department has recently admitted over 7 pediatric patients with acute diarrhea every day. Most of the infected children were over 2 years old, and were brought to the hospital only after being treated at home and not getting better.

According to Dr. Nguyen Hong Nghiep, Head of the Gastroenterology Department (Hai Duong Children's Hospital), acute diarrhea caused by Rota virus is an acute disease. Most children entering the department initially have symptoms of vomiting, fever, loose stools, and even signs related to the respiratory tract. Many children who are treated at home do not improve and when admitted to the hospital, they are dehydrated and have poor appetite.

According to Dr. Nghiep, the damage to the digestive tract after a child gets sick will gradually recover, so children discharged from the hospital still need to be given proper nutritional care by their families, eat easily digestible foods, limit strange foods, and use lactose-free milk...
