Teachers are the ones who awaken dreams and make students believe they can do it.
The story from more than 2 years ago still makes me remember. At that time, I was still just a shy girl, just starting out from primary school and moving to secondary school, still confused with new friends, new school and new teachers. I was looking around for my friends when a teacher with a small figure and calm gait approached me and asked:
- Which class are you in? Can't find the class? Come in here and I'll ask for you.
I trotted after her, wondering why she was so enthusiastic. Only later, when I had her as my teacher, did I find out that she was my brother's math teacher - Ms. Thao.
Before studying with her, I didn't know why I felt so bored with studying. For me, studying was boring. The words that went into my head one day would escape the next, making me feel discouraged. I just buried my head in watching TV and forgot many unfinished tasks. I made my mother sad without realizing it. I didn't care, I even felt angry when she took away my right to watch the programs I loved so much. My mother and I couldn't find a common voice. I found my mother annoying, she wasn't like "other people's mothers".
One day, after my friends had all gone home, suddenly a warm voice from behind me said:
- Come back here, I need your help.
I was confused, not knowing what I did wrong, a thought popped into my head: "I must be punished again". But completely different from what I thought, she gently asked: "What did you do to make your parents so sad?". Then she sat down and talked, confided in me, I felt that she considered me as a child, not a student. I wondered why she was so good to me? While I was not a good student, not an impressive girl, nor was I her blood relative. But she had to put in the effort to teach me the lesson of being a child, the lesson of being a person. From then on, she gave me trust, infinite gratitude.
Every time I think about doing something wrong, I think of what she taught me, it is so profound. And now I have improved a lot. You see, there are lessons that do not come from books, there are lessons that come to us from the tolerance and sincerity of our second fathers and mothers.
There are lessons about being human that come from gratitude: “Students are flowers, teachers are the ones who water them to make them bloom”, “Teachers are the ones who awaken dreams, make students believe they can do it”. Teachers are the ones who give wings to our dreams, nurture our souls to grow, give us the steadfastness to walk on the path of knowledge.
I also realized that teachers are the ones who always give all their love to their students, even the students who always make them angry. But sometimes, because I don't think about it, my friends and I make our teachers sad. Do we sometimes only think about ourselves, about our feelings, without caring about the people around us? Sometimes, teachers scold us not because they hate us, but because they love and care for us. But for some reason, we don't realize it.
So from the feelings I received, I realized that there is no proverb about love like the love built by specific actions, even very small. It has the ability to support, even save the soul of a person who is lost or misguided.
Dear friends, let’s live with gratitude and find joy in the little things in life. I believe that every person’s path has the shadow of a teacher. Be grateful to them, as I now always have a teacher like that in my heart.
