If you want to feel the atmosphere of Tet coming early, you have to go to the land of peach blossoms Tan Hung, where my mother often said spring comes earliest in Hai Duong city.
My mother often said that Tan Hung ward (Hai Duong city) is the land of peach blossoms because here there are vast peach gardens. Peaches are grown from inside the house to the fields. It is not yet Tet but every time I follow my mother here, I feel like spring has come.
Tan Hung Ward is only a few kilometers from my house, so every year near Tet, I go here with my mother to admire and take beautiful pictures of peach blossoms. I often compare this place to the capital of peach blossoms and many other flowers during Tet.
Following the rice fields, my mother and I weaved through the peach gardens that were beginning to bloom to welcome spring. The peach trees here were planted by the locals for a long time, so there were many large, ancient trees.
The last days of the year are also the busiest time for peach gardens in Tan Hung. Tan Hung peach blossoms are big, with red petals and beautiful shapes, so many people from neighboring provinces come here to hunt for beautiful trees to celebrate Tet. Truckloads of trucks line up to come here to buy peach trees. Tan Hung peach trees are even brought to the South by traders.
The peach blossom capital of Tan Hung has many different types of peaches, red peaches, and pale peaches. I even saw both pale peaches and red peaches on one tree. My mother said that the people here know how to graft peaches to have many different types to serve the preferences of many people.
Following my mother here, in addition to taking beautiful photos, I also learned about peach trees, a typical tree of Tet and spring.
Farmers here have to take care of peach trees for a whole year before they can harvest. After the peach trees show their colors and fragrance for several days in many families during Tet, people will buy them and replant them in the fields.
Throughout the year, under the care of farmers, the peach trees grow rapidly, sprouting and blooming lushly. Then, the locals here time the time to pluck the green leaves from the branches of the trees. By doing so, the trees will have many buds and bloom right on Tet. Strangely enough, from the bare branches, stripped of leaves through a cold winter, fresh peach buds sprout.
Every year, after visiting almost the entire peach garden, my mother was able to choose a small, pretty branch to bring home to display on the occasion of the Kitchen God worship, and also did not forget to deposit with the farmer a beautiful peach tree with many flowers to play during Tet.
This year, a big storm came and knocked down many peach trees in Tan Hung. However, thanks to the care of farmers, the peach trees still grew strong and bloomed on time.
It is true that if you want to feel the atmosphere of Tet early, you have to go to the land of peach blossoms in Tan Hung, where my mother often said spring comes earliest in the city. Leaving Tan Hung, holding the brilliant peach blossoms in hand, my mother and I brought spring home.
