A man in Thanh Ha was fined and had his fishing gear confiscated for using electric shock to catch fish on the Thai Binh River.

Thanh Ha District Police fined Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuyen (born in 1982 in Thanh Cuong Commune, Thanh Ha) 12.5 million VND for using an electric boat to catch fish on the Thai Binh River.

Authorities confiscated the electric shock and fishing gear used to commit the violation.

Previously, on November 8, the Waterway Traffic Police Team, under the Traffic Police Department (Hai Duong Provincial Police) coordinated with Thanh Ha District Police to patrol and discovered a fishing boat without a license plate operated by Mr. Tuyen illegally using electric shock to catch aquatic products on the Thai Binh River, through Thanh Thuy Commune (Thanh Ha). At the time of inspection, Mr. Tuyen's electric shock machine was connected to a fishing net system under the river.
