The special traditional relationship between Vietnam and Cuba

At the invitation of the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, Politburo member and President of the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez will visit Vietnam and represent the leaders of the Party and State of Cuba to attend the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the visit of Cuban leader Fidel Castro to the liberated zone of South Vietnam (September 1973 - September 2023) from September 24-28.

Over the past 60 years, since the two countries established diplomatic relations, the Vietnamese and Cuban peoples have always stood side by side in the struggle for independence and freedom as well as in the cause of building and defending the socialist Fatherland in each country.

The solidarity and trust between Vietnam and Cuba has continued to develop strongly in recent times, becoming increasingly substantive and effective. The activities of dialogue and cooperation mechanisms have been maintained, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Relations on all three channels of Party diplomacy, State diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy have been increasingly deepened. In addition, economic-trade-investment relations between the two countries have also gradually received attention.
