KING 6 sticky rice has high yield

KING 6 sticky rice has a growing period of 110-115 days, good tillering, not infected with leaf blast, neck blast, leaf blight, brown planthopper. KING 6 sticky rice variety is less susceptible to leaf rollers and stem borers than the control variety 415 sticky rice. Due to the impact of storm No. 3, many rice varieties' leaves were crushed and torn at the top, but KING 6 sticky rice variety was less affected.

KING 6 sticky rice has an average yield of 5.5 tons/ha, 7.95 tons/ha higher than the control variety. Each hectare of sticky rice has a revenue of 60.5 million VND, giving a profit of nearly 29 million VND, 11.5 million VND higher than the control variety.

KING 6 glutinous rice variety is evaluated to be suitable for Hai Duong's soil and can be widely replicated to bring high economic efficiency to farmers.

That is the result of the field workshop on the KING 6 sticky rice model recently organized by the Center for Application of Science, Technology and Variety Testing (Department of Science and Technology) in Dinh Son commune (Cam Giang).

This year's crop, the Center for Application of Science, Technology and Seed Testing built a model of 25 hectares of KING 6 sticky rice variety in Dinh Son commune (Cam Giang) and Quoc Tuan (Nam Sach) with 63 participating households.
