After visiting the fields, the interdisciplinary inspection team estimated that the yield of this year's winter-spring rice crop in Hai Duong is estimated to reach 58-60 quintals/ha.
On October 9, an interdisciplinary delegation from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Hai Duong Statistics Office inspected and assessed the productivity of the winter-spring rice crop in the province.
The interdisciplinary inspection team assessed that from the beginning of the crop to the end of August, the seasonal rice fields grew and developed well, and pests and diseases were controlled and prevented in a timely manner. However, in early September, due to the impact of storm No. 3 combined with rain and floods after the storm, some rice fields were flooded.
Following the guidance of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, districts, towns and cities have focused on propagating and mobilizing farmers to overcome damage after storms and floods. This year, Hai Duong planted nearly 53,400 hectares of rice. By October 9, the whole province had harvested about 50% of the area, faster than the same period last year. The interdisciplinary inspection team estimated that the rice yield this crop would reach 58-60 quintals/ha (the 2023 crop was over 61 quintals/ha).
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development recommends that districts, towns and cities continue to direct and guide farmers to provide enough water for late-season rice to flower and mature; proactively monitor and forecast, and promptly prevent and control harmful pests and diseases. As soon as rice is harvested, quickly prepare the land to plant winter vegetables...
