Literature and Math exam questions leaked from candidates in Cao Bang and Yen Bai

The Ministry of Public Security determined that the Math and Literature exam leaks originated from candidates in Cao Bang and Yen Bai.

On the afternoon of June 28, a representative of the Internal Political Security Department (A03), Ministry of Public Security, announced the above information.

Accordingly, with the Literature exam, a candidate at the Cao Bang Provincial Examination Council used an iPhone 11 to take a photo at around 7:50 a.m., then sent the exam to a relative to ask for help solving the problem. A while later, the image of the Literature exam was spread on social networking sites. The Ministry of Public Security found this candidate at 1:30 p.m.

Mr. Vu Van Duong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Cao Bang province, said that he has suspended the exam for the violating candidate and will not allow him to take the exam tomorrow.

Regarding the information about leaked math questions, A03 said that they have identified the candidate involved as being from the Yen Bai Provincial Examination Council. This candidate is also suspected of using a phone to take pictures of the questions and send them out. The authorities are continuing to verify and clarify.

This morning, the Ministry of Education and Training announced that the Literature exam for the 2023 high school graduation exam was posted on social media at around 8:00 a.m. The photo shows that the exam was taken in the exam room, next to the exam paper is the exam registration form. Meanwhile, according to regulations, the Literature exam time is from 7:35 a.m. to 9:35 a.m. Candidates are allowed to leave the exam room at the earliest after two-thirds of the time, but must submit both the exam paper and scratch paper. This means that the exam paper will not be taken out of the exam room before 9:35 a.m.

In the afternoon, after the candidates finished the Math exam at 4 p.m., there was also suspicion of leaked questions. Upon receiving the information, the Ministry of Education reported it to the Internal Political Security Department of the Ministry of Public Security for verification. For now, the Ministry believes that the two incidents mentioned above will not affect the exam.

Minister Nguyen Kim Son issued a telegram at 7 p.m. tonight requesting that examination councils focus highly on preventing cheating, especially the use of technological devices to cheat on exams.

Tomorrow, candidates will take the Social Science or Natural Science test in the morning and the Foreign Language test in the afternoon. The graduation exam scores will be announced on July 18.
