In the 5th round of the FA Cup, Nottingham Forest continued to prove themselves as a phenomenon of English football this season as they moved closer to the chance to conquer a major title.

George Hirst's 53rd-minute goal on the morning of March 4 put Ipswich Town, a struggling Premier League side, in the lead against home team Nottingham Forest. However, just 15 minutes later, Ryan Yates headed home the equalizer for Nottingham Forest.

The two teams continued to hold each other after a tense extra-time to enter the penalty shootout. Both teams had scored well in the first four penalties, with Ipswich's Jack Taylor missing the fifth, while Nottingham Forest's Hudson-Odoi converted the decisive kick.

Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels became the hero, saving Jack Taylor's shot to send Nuno Espirito Santo's side into the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Nottingham Forest will face Brighton on March 29. The other three FA Cup quarter-final ties have been confirmed, with Manchester City visiting Bournemouth – who have also been a Premier League sensation this season – while Championship side Preston host Aston Villa and Fulham host Crystal Palace.
