It can be said that losing jobs to AI is no longer a distant risk for young people. Being proactive in making friends with AI and turning AI into a tool is the way to avoid unemployment due to AI.

Delegate Nguyen Thi Mai Thoa, Standing Member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education, National Assembly delegate of Hai Duong province, is concerned about the employment issue of young people in the face of challenges posed by AI.

AI (Artificial Intelligence) is artificial intelligence. Currently, AI has done many jobs instead of humans and can do better than humans in certain stages.

Therefore, more and more businesses and units are promoting the application of AI in work to replace humans and save costs. This poses a big challenge for workers, especially young people when job opportunities may be increasingly narrowed due to AI.

On the morning of October 26, speaking at the discussion group at the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, delegate Nguyen Thi Mai Thoa, Standing Member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education, National Assembly delegate of Hai Duong province expressed concern about the employment issue of young people in the face of challenges posed by AI.

"We visited the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT). The group's leaders said that after the group changed and used a very small application of AI technology from using call center staff to distinguish the level of user response, 80 workers immediately lost their jobs," delegate Nguyen Thi Mai Thoa shared.

Delegate Thoa repeatedly emphasized that AI not only threatens the jobs of unskilled workers but also the skilled workforce. The issue of employment, especially employment for young people, is facing many challenges in the face of the development of artificial intelligence.

Meanwhile, unemployment among young people in our country tends to increase (currently about 8%), 3 times higher than the general unemployment rate in the country; there is also a situation of young people going abroad illegally...

In Hai Duong, there are over 400,000 young people, accounting for over 20% of the population. The youth force in the population structure is large, the golden population ratio will only exist in our country for a short time, developing policies and creating jobs for young people is very important.

If AI is considered an enemy, young people will easily lose their jobs in the near future.

Therefore, facing these challenges, young people should consider AI as a friend, be open to learning what AI can do, understand more about AI and turn AI into a tool to serve their work or simply learn to not let AI turn them into a tool, not let AI deceive them.

Along with that, authorities need to implement many support policies to help young workers, students, and pupils access and learn about AI.

Recently, many agencies and organizations in Hai Duong have organized training courses for officials and employees on AI to apply in work practice. Sustainable solutions to improve the quality of human resources are also being promoted.

It can be said that losing jobs to AI for young people is not a very imminent risk but not too far away either. If young people do not speed up and adapt in the race with AI, they will easily fall behind and be eliminated.
