The Vietnam Youth Union always accompanies the development of young people, thereby enhancing the role and position of the organization among international friends.
On the afternoon of October 14, in Thai Nguyen province, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union held a ceremony to celebrate the 67th anniversary of its tradition (October 15, 1956 - October 15, 2023) and awarded the "October 15" Award in 2023.
Attending the ceremony were leaders of the Central Youth Union, leaders of Thai Nguyen province and more than 500 young people.
At the program, on behalf of generations of Vietnamese youth, Standing Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Ngoc Luong read a speech reviewing the glorious 67-year journey of the association's establishment and development.
In each stage, under the leadership of the Party and the State, the core political role of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Union has made outstanding contributions to the cause of national construction and defense, always upholding the glorious traditions of the association and the youth classes, such as the tradition of ardent patriotism, loyalty to the regime, to the ideals of the Party and Uncle Ho, solidarity and unity; the tradition of the revolutionary shock army, volunteering, daring to take on the heavy tasks assigned by history, bravely fighting, going to the most difficult places; the tradition of studiousness, diligence, passion for creativity, scientific research, entrepreneurship, career establishment, having will, high sense of responsibility, aspiration...
To date, the Vietnam Youth Union has more than 9.9 million members, with chapters in 63 provinces and cities; 4 domestic and foreign corporations and groups; and 5 Vietnamese youth and student associations abroad.
In recent times, along with the development of science and technology and digital transformation in all areas of social life, the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels has strongly innovated its methods of operation, built programs and activities of the association that approach the interests of the organization and the needs of young people, suitable for the characteristics and personalities of young people, creating an environment for young people to help young people experience and mature.
The Association has actively promoted the pioneering role, creativity, volunteer spirit, aroused the great potential of young people, encouraged young people to take the lead in implementing the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, and excellently completed all tasks in localities and units.
According to the President of the Vietnam Youth Union, awards such as “October 15,” “Beautiful Youth,” “Golden Star of Vietnam,” “Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs”... or activities such as “Journey of Young Doctors Following Uncle Ho’s Teachings,” “Footsteps for the Community”... have created an environment for members and young people to participate in training, affirming the role of the Vietnam Youth Union in always accompanying the development of young people, thereby enhancing the role and position of the organization among international friends and in the World Federation of Democratic Youth.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union awarded the "October 15" Prize to 82 outstanding youths; and presented symbols of youth projects to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the union's tradition.
Earlier, on the same morning, at Thai Nguyen University of Education, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union held the launching ceremony of stage 13 - the program "Steps for the community" with the participation of about 500 students of Thai Nguyen University of Education.
The program "Steps for the community" was implemented from October 14 to November 5, with the goal of mobilizing at least 1 million km of walking/running, equivalent to a budget of 1 billion VND to build a Community Cultural House for the Ro Mam ethnic group in Kon Tum province.
At the ceremony, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union presented 20 gifts to ethnic minority households in difficult circumstances and 20 gifts to ethnic minority youth and students in difficult circumstances who have excelled in their studies.
In addition, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union organized the Journey to the Red Address - visiting the venue of the first National Congress of the Union and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; offering incense at the historical monument of the Vietnam Youth Volunteers; visiting and presenting gifts to 20 disadvantaged students and inaugurating the youth project of 300 lemon trees along 2 main roads in Phu Xuyen commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province.
