The Korean automaker has revealed the first images of its new electric vehicle, which is expected to launch this summer.
On April 23, Kia posted photos of the new product on its fanpage. The car was taken from the side and only the overall design lines were visible, not the details. The design of the EV3 was inspired by its predecessor, the EV9, but it is much more compact in size.
According to Korean Car Blog, the EV3's interior will follow the style of recent Kia and Hyundai models. In the center of the dashboard will be a large screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Advanced features and a modern look are the main themes, along with a user-friendly experience for both driver and passengers.
The interior will feature plant-based materials and natural fibre textures. While maintaining its eco-friendly ethos, Kia will also incorporate these elements into its commercial products, striking a balance between sustainability and practical luxury.
The EV3 will be positioned below the newly launched EV5, with a target price of under $30,000. This pricing strategy is intended to make the EV3 a more affordable option than the e-Niro, potentially appealing to a wider audience looking for a more affordable entry into the electric vehicle market. The EV3 is also part of Kia’s lower-cost EV lineup, which includes the EV2, EV3, EV4, and EV5.
It is said that the EV3 will use 400V technology to achieve a reasonable price while ensuring efficiency. The car could be around 4,400mm long.
The Kia EV3 is the latest product to show the automotive industry’s shift towards sustainable and accessible electric vehicles. With a fresh design, advanced technology, and a reasonable price, the EV3 could become a serious competitor in the market.
