Ms. Tran Bich Ngoc has just been prosecuted and temporarily detained due to being identified as being involved in a bribery case that occurred in Lam Dong province.
On the afternoon of August 11, Lieutenant General To An Xo, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, said that the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency had issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Ms. Tran Bich Ngoc for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties."
Ms. Ngoc is the Director of the Department of Monitoring Inspection Work; Handling Complaints and Denunciations; Preventing and Combating Corruption, Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit Goods under the Government Office, and was identified by the Ministry of Public Security as being involved in the Bribery case that occurred in Lam Dong province.
According to General Xo, Ms. Ngoc took advantage of her position to violate her assigned duties and responsibilities in handling inspections and complaints regarding the Dai Ninh Eco-Resort Urban Area Project in Lam Dong province, causing damage to the interests of the State.
The Ministry of Public Security is focusing its forces to investigate, clarify the criminal acts of the defendants, expand the case and thoroughly recover assets.
