Losing the second set to Karolina Muchova, this was the first time “Queen” Iga Swiatek had lost a set in a Grand Slam final. Despite this, she calmly overcame the disadvantage, winning the final 2-1 (6-2, 5-7 and 6-4), thereby winning the Grand Slam for the fourth time, and the Roland Garros championship for the third time.
With this victory, the 22-year-old Swiatek set a series of records along with Monica Seles and Naomi Osaka as the 3 rare people to win 4 Grand Slam titles in the first 4 finals. The Polish tennis player became the youngest tennis player to win back-to-back Roland Garros championships since Seles and also became the youngest tennis player since Serena Williams (in 2022) to win 4 Grand Slam titles.
Swiatek's three Roland Garros titles equal the lifetime record of Margaret Court, Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, Seles and Williams, and are only surpassed by former players Chris Evert, Steffi Graf and Justine Henin.

26-year-old Karolina Muchova (WTA No. 43) caused a big surprise when she qualified for the Roland Garros final. Before this year's event, the Czech had never made it past the third round of a Grand Slam on clay in five appearances. Muchova forced Swiatek to play the maximum number of sets and only lost after 2 hours and 49 minutes of play.
