According to the Department of Education and Training, in the 2023-2024 school year, more than 34,000 first-graders in Hai Duong will be given helmets under the program of the National Traffic Safety Committee with the theme "Keeping Dreams".
The program announcement and provincial helmet donation ceremony is expected to be held at Tu Minh Primary School (Hai Duong City). Each Department of Education and Training will select 1 primary school to organize the program of donating helmets to first graders at the district level. The primary schools will organize the helmet donation for first graders at the beginning of the week.
The program's goal is to form the habit of wearing helmets among motorbike users in Vietnam; raise people's awareness of complying with the mandatory regulation of wearing standard helmets for children, reducing the consequences of traffic accidents.
This meaningful and practical activity is a continuation of the program "Giving helmets to first graders" implemented nationwide by the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training, and Honda Vietnam Company from 2018 to 2020. After a hiatus due to Covid-19, in the 2023-2024 school year, the program will restart and give 2 million helmets to first graders nationwide.
