More than 1,000 candidates take the 9th grade excellent student exam in Hai Duong province

On the afternoon of December 3, the Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong organized a provincial-level exam to select excellent 9th grade junior high school students for the 2024-2025 school year in Hai Duong City.

This year's exam was held 1 month earlier than the previous school year. The new point of this school year's exam is that for the first time, the Hai Duong Department of Education and Training used the results of the IT exam to rank the teams of the Education and Training Departments. Last school year, IT was introduced into the exam but the teams were not ranked. Notably, this year's exam is the first time students will take the exam according to the new 2018 general education program.

Each candidate takes one of the following subjects: mathematics, literature, English, computer science or one of the sub-subjects of natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology), history and geography (history, geography). The math and literature tests are in essay format. The remaining subjects are in a combination of essay and multiple choice format. The computer science test is a practical test on a computer. The test duration is 150 minutes per subject.

The Department of Education and Training mobilized more than 130 exam invigilators, exam inspectors, service staff, medical staff, security guards, security staff, traffic safety staff, etc. at the exam sites of Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted and Ngoc Chau Secondary School (Hai Duong City).

In this exam in the 2023-2024 school year, the whole province has nearly 1,000 grade 9 students taking the exam to select excellent students. The Department of Education and Training recognized 586 grade 9 junior high school students who won prizes, including 10 first prizes.
