According to the announcement of the presiding judge of the first instance trial of the "rescue flight" case, the sentence for the 54 defendants will be announced at 2:00 p.m. on July 28.
On the morning of July 22, on the 10th working day of the first-instance trial of the "rescue flight" case, before deliberating, the panel of judges allowed 54 defendants to have their final say.
After Dao Thi Chung Thuy, Deputy Director of the International Travel Company - the last of the 54 defendants - had her final say, Judge Vu Quang Huy - the presiding judge of the trial, announced: "Due to the complexity of the case, the panel of judges will have a prolonged deliberation and will announce the verdict at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28 at the headquarters of the Hanoi People's Court."

Previously, on the morning of July 17, after announcing the indictment, the Procuracy proposed the People's Court sentence 54 defendants in the "rescue flight" case.

Defendant To Anh Dung (former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs) was proposed to be sentenced to 12-13 years in prison.
Defendant Nguyen Thi Huong Lan (former Director of the Consular Department) was proposed to be sentenced to 18-19 years in prison.
Defendant Do Hoang Tung (former Deputy Director) was proposed to be sentenced to 9-10 years in prison.
Defendant Nguyen Quang Linh, former Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister, received a bribe of more than 4 billion VND and was proposed to be sentenced to 7-8 years in prison.
Defendant Nguyen Tien Than, former specialist of the International Relations Department of the Government Office, received a bribe of more than 3.6 billion VND and was proposed to be sentenced to 6-7 years in prison.
