If you want to shop, sightsee and sunbathe, consider Hoi An, which is among the 9 best suggested destinations to enjoy the rest of summer.
Hong Kong’s SCMP has just suggested nine of the world’s best destinations for a trip to enjoy the last bit of summer. These must be places that meet the criteria: visitors can shop, visit and sunbathe, have museums and galleries but also have golden sand and blue sea for surfing. The cities must also provide luxury restaurants, lively bars but visitors can also enjoy exciting experiences such as boating and surfing.
Hoi An, a central city bordering the East Sea, is the only representative from Vietnam on the list that best meets the above requirements. "If you want to combine shopping, sightseeing and sunbathing, think Hoi An, Vietnam and An Bang Beach," wrote the SCMP.
Hoi An Ancient Town
Hoi An, a city in Quang Nam province with a population of 120,000, is considered by tourism experts to be a "photogenic" destination. It impresses international visitors with its French colonial architecture, ornate temples, and Japanese Covered Bridge.
Hoi An was once one of the busiest trading ports in Southeast Asia and today is a bustling tourist destination with visitors coming to visit and have their clothes tailored. At night, the old town is lit up by colorful lanterns, "giving visitors the feeling of being lost in a fairy tale".
Instead of choosing hotels in the city center, many tourists choose coastal resorts as their destination. The white sand and clear blue water of An Bang beach have helped this place appear on CNN's list of the 100 most beautiful beaches in the world.
Other destinations also on the list voted by travel experts are Sydney (Australia), Miami (USA), Sanya (China), Athens (Greece), Barcelona (Spain), Brighton (UK), Mumbai (India), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
