By November 2, localities in Hai Duong had completed harvesting 50,000 hectares of early and mid-season rice, reaching over 90% of the province's total cultivated area.
The whole province has finished harvesting 50,000 hectares of early and mid-season rice.
The average rice yield in the province reached over 60 quintals/ha, equivalent to the previous year's crop. Thanh Mien, Ninh Giang, Gia Loc, Nam Sach, Cam Giang districts... have basically finished harvesting the winter-spring rice area. Kim Thanh, Thanh Ha districts and Hai Duong city have harvested less because it is mainly late-season rice. It is expected that the late-season rice will be harvested from November 10 to 15.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development recommends that after harvesting the summer-autumn rice, localities should take advantage of the dry weather to prepare the land to expand the winter crop area and complete plowing in December to get water for production.
