Hai Duong farmers have finished harvesting the late-season rice crop, mainly specialty rice varieties with high yield and economic value.
By November 15, farmers in the province had basically finished harvesting the late-season rice crop on an area of nearly 4,800 hectares. This area is mainly of specialty sticky rice varieties such as golden flower sticky rice, twisted sticky rice, tangerine sticky rice, etc., concentrated in Kim Thanh, Thanh Ha districts, Hai Duong city and Chi Linh. The late-season rice yield reached 50-54 quintals/ha, an increase of about 1 quintal/ha compared to the previous crop.
Up to now, localities in the province have completed harvesting nearly 54,000 hectares of winter-spring rice. This year, the weather was favorable, less affected by storms, and farmers actively fertilized, so the total crop yield reached an average of 61.5 quintals/ha, 2 quintals/ha higher than the same period last year.
