As of October 28, localities in Hai Duong had harvested nearly 50,000 hectares of early and mid-season rice, reaching over 90% of the province’s total cultivated area. Of these, more than 46,000 hectares of rice were harvested by machine.

The yield of early-season rice is estimated at 61.5 quintals/ha, 2 quintals/ha higher than the early-season rice of last year. Thanh Mien, Ninh Giang, Gia Loc, Nam Sach, Cam Giang districts... and Kinh Mon town have basically finished harvesting the winter-season rice area. Kim Thanh, Thanh Ha districts and Hai Duong city have harvested less because they are mainly specialty sticky rice varieties. Currently, there is only late-season rice area, expected to be harvested from November 10 to 15.
The provincial Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection recommends that after harvesting the summer-autumn rice, localities should take advantage of the dry weather to prepare the land to expand the winter crop area and complete plowing in December to get water for production.
