As of June 16, Hai Duong farmers had harvested more than 50,800 hectares of winter-spring rice, reaching nearly 94% of the plan. Of which, 6 localities had completed the harvest.
The whole Hai Duong province has harvested more than 50,800 hectares of winter-spring rice, with an average rice yield of 67 quintals/ha.
The districts that have completed harvesting are Ninh Giang, Tu Ky, Gia Loc, Kim Thanh, Thanh Ha and Nam Sach. The remaining localities have harvested over 90% of the area.
The Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection recommends that farmers take advantage of favorable weather to harvest rice. At the same time, mobilize high-capacity tillage machines to plow the soil as soon as the rice is harvested, bury the straw cage, and combine with the use of products that quickly decompose straw to avoid organic poisoning of the winter-spring rice after transplanting. The planting of winter-spring rice must follow the correct rice structure, rice varieties and the province's crop calendar. Take the initiative to prevent flooding at the beginning of the season when heavy rain occurs.
This year's winter-spring crop, the weather was basically favorable, so the rice grew and developed well, with few pests and diseases. The average rice yield in Hai Duong province reached 67 quintals/ha, equivalent to the same period last year.
