Previously, the quality assessment was scheduled to take place on May 19-20, but May 20 coincided with the Hanoi National University's capacity assessment exam. This year, Hai Duong has a larger number of students participating in this exam than last year.

Accordingly, the quality assessment schedule has been changed to May 18-19. On May 18, the exam will be in three subjects: math, literature, and English. On the morning of May 19, the exam will be in a combination of natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology) and social sciences (history, geography, civics). The time for the literature test is 120 minutes, math is 90 minutes, English is 60 minutes, and the remaining subjects are 50 minutes.

Unlike previous years when only a few subjects were surveyed due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year, the Department of Education and Training organized a survey of the quality of 12th grade students in the whole province for all subjects in the 2023 high school graduation exam.

This year, the whole province has more than 21,000 grade 12 students and about 600 independent candidates.
