The producer of the movie "Nhat lo huong tien" recounted the situation of the filming on the river that left two people dead.

According to Zhejiang News, the incident on the set caused a stir in public opinion, with many viewers demanding that the relevant parties clarify the cause and take responsibility for the incident. On June 7, the producer, surnamed Ha, said that the victims were people with a martial arts background, who were in charge of filming the work's difficult action scenes, including punching, gunfights, and underwater fighting.

The crew filmed the action scene before dawn on June 4 on a river in Sichuan Province. The producers said the scene revolved around a nighttime rescue, so filming was forced at night. At the scene, the director asked the actors to fight on the boat, causing the boat to rock. At this time, two martial arts actors slipped and fell into the river and went missing. The rescue team discovered the victims' bodies that afternoon.

The producer admitted that he did not fully understand the safety measures when filming on the river. Currently, the entire film crew has stopped filming and is cooperating with the investigation by the authorities. The film, directed by Tap Tan, started filming in December 2021 and was scheduled to wrap up in April 2022, but due to the pandemic, the filming process was interrupted and is now only more than half completed.

According to Sina, the incident at the set of Nhat Lo Huong Tien is one of the most serious accidents on set in the Chinese film industry in recent years. On Weibo, many people criticized the production company for not doing a good job of protecting the stuntmen and martial arts actors. Viewers wrote: "Usually, for scenes like this, there needs to be someone who is good at swimming underwater to prevent accidents", "The film crew exploited the action actors, giving them dangerous scenes without ensuring their safety".

Many people think that crews often focus on taking care of the main actors and cut corners on less famous actors. On Weibo, screenwriter Zhu Ming said that when she first started her career, in addition to being a screenwriter, she also worked as a studio secretary, so she experienced many stories on set. In one work, the male and female leads soaked themselves in water to film the scene "hero saves beauty". The male and female leads only soaked themselves for less than an hour, but four staff members had to stay underwater all day to serve the scene and protect the others. When they got out of the water, they took a quick shower and continued working at night.

Chuc Minh said that since then, whenever an A-list actor complained about his hardships on set, she frowned. "First, they receive super high salaries, and second, they work in much better conditions than the unknown people in the film crew. Many stars rely on their fame, leaving the most difficult tasks to stuntmen and extras. After this time, I really hope this situation will change," the screenwriter wrote.
