Machinery and equipment are working to clear thousands of cubic meters of mud and soil from the landslide.

At the scene, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province directed the provincial Department of Transport to mobilize maximum human resources and machinery to level the land at the landslide site to clear the vital traffic route connecting Ha Giang city with Bac Me district and Cao Bang province.

At the same time, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province directed the functional forces to warn people that during heavy rains, there is a risk of landslides, and that if not really necessary, they should limit travel in areas with frequent landslides to ensure safety. For now, the route is only temporary because the geology on the positive slope is very complicated, and due to heavy rain, the slope has absorbed enough water, so landslides can occur at any time.

Currently, the Ha Giang Department of Transport has directed road management units to put up warning signs and assign guards. When there are signs of landslides, people and vehicles will not be allowed to pass.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Anh Duc, Head of the Traffic Police Department, Ha Giang Provincial Police, said that in order to restore traffic to normal, the authorities have organized patrols and controlled landslide-prone areas. Thereby, they have coordinated with the road management force to install warning signs to ensure the safety of road users. When unsafe traffic points are detected, vehicles will be temporarily stopped to avoid accidents.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Head of Traffic Management Department, Vietnam Road Administration, said that currently, units such as the military, police, and traffic are coordinating very well and synchronously. The search and rescue work has ended, and in the immediate future, it is necessary to focus on human resources and machinery to carry out the work of overcoming the consequences. With full equipment and machinery, the possibility of clearing the route this afternoon is very promising.

Up to now, the serious landslide on National Highway 34 (Ha Giang - Cao Bang road) in Ta Mo village, Yen Dinh commune, Bac Me district, Ha Giang province, burying a 16-seat passenger car with license plate 29E-024.89 (Ford Transit type) has confirmed 11 deaths and 4 injuries. After two days, the search for victims has ended.

Ha Giang province is focusing on providing emergency care and treatment for the injured victims. At the same time, it is visiting, encouraging, and sharing with 11 families of the deceased and 4 injured in the landslide.
