Because the 6 eucalyptus trees that were cut down on Provincial Road 390 through Tan An Commune, Thanh Ha District (Hai Duong) were still alive, they were lowered to 5 meters in height to ensure safety.
On August 21, Road Department 2 (Hai Duong Road Bridge Joint Stock Company) cut down the tops and lowered the height to 5 m with 6 eucalyptus trees that were cut down at km20+700, provincial road 390 in Song Dong village, Tan An commune (Thanh Ha).
Previously, after discovering 6 half-cut eucalyptus trees in Tan An commune, Road Department 2 sent staff to work with the People's Committee and Tan An commune police to verify the incident but could not identify the person who cut the trees. After checking, the 6 eucalyptus trees were still alive, so Road Department 2 lowered the height to 5 m to allow the trees to grow safely.
Along with lowering the height of eucalyptus trees, the unit also cleared vines and tree branches that obscured some traffic signs and cut down some dead trees on Provincial Road 390.
Previously, the Readers' column on Hai Duong Electronic Newspaper on August 15 had an opinion "Danger of eucalyptus trees on Provincial Road 390 in Thanh Ha being cut down" reflecting the above incident.
