From 2024, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced the organization of the Asian women's Champions League.

According to the announcement made by AFC after the Women's Football Committee meeting held in Sydney (Australia) on August 20, the preliminary rounds will be held in August 2024, the group stage will take place in October 2024 while the quarter-finals and finals are expected to take place in March and May 2025 respectively. AFC stated that this is a tentative schedule, which can be adjusted if necessary.

The AFC announcement also stated that in the first four tournaments, the group stage will consist of three groups of four teams each. The matches will be played in a "round robin format with points concentrated in each group, with the top two teams and the two third-placed teams with the best records advancing to the quarter-finals."

The AFC has not yet announced prize money for the tournament. Last week, the AFC announced its decision to triple the prize money for the AFC Champions League to $12 million for the 2024/25 season.

In a separate decision, the AFC also agreed to change the format of the AFC Women's Asian Cup from every four years to every three years. The next AFC Women's Asian Cup will take place in 2026.
