The highest score of Hanoi National University's aptitude test is 130.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao, Chairman of the Competency Assessment Council (HSA), Hanoi National University, said on the morning of April 2 that the school's two exam sessions attracted nearly 30,800 candidates.

The test scores are normally distributed with a median of 80/150 and a mean of 80.2/150.

The highest score was 130. This candidate took the second round of the exam, which took place last weekend, taking the math and data processing, language - literature and the science option with three topics: physics, chemistry, and biology.

Previously, in the first round held on March 15-16, the candidate with the highest score was Nguyen Phuong Thao, a student of class 12A6, Hoai Duc A High School, Hanoi, with 126 points.

The percentage of candidates scoring 110 or higher is 2.1%. If calculated from 90, this percentage is 27%.

The HSA consists of three parts, of which two are compulsory: mathematics and data processing (50 questions, 75 minutes) and literature - language (50 questions, 60 minutes). The optional part is science or English (50 questions, 60 minutes). For the science part, candidates choose 3 topics from physics, chemistry, biology, history and geography. Each topic has 17 questions (including one test question).

Compared to the exams in March last year, the HSA exam scores in 2025 tend to increase slightly, about 3 - 5 points on a 150-point scale. Mr. Thao said the reason is that candidates can choose the science or English exam according to their abilities and strengths.

This year’s HSA exam will have four more rounds, taking place in April and May in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, and Ha Tinh. The total number of candidates registered for all six rounds is more than 90,600.

About 100 schools use HSA exam results for admission, accounting for nearly 50% of higher education institutions nationwide.
